Health tests

This page lists the screening and health tests concerning the French Bulldog: those managed directly by the CBF, those managed by the Société Centrale Canine, as well as additional resources for further information on the main conditions monitored in the breed.

Three screening tests are managed directly by the CBF:

1. pulmonic stenosis;
2. patellar luxation;
3. degenerative myelopathy.

Pulmonic stenosis

The three documents needed to carry out pulmonic stenosis screening are available for download: examination form, protocol description, shipping recommendations.

The certificate issued by Dr JOSSIER, the official reader, is reserved for his use and is therefore not available for download.

Patellar luxation

Download the SCC form.

The form must be returned by email to laetitiaroudier.cbf@gmail.com, for the attention of Madame Laetitia ROUDIER, Deputy Secretary of the CBF.

The minimum age for this examination is 15 months (source: SCC). Explanation of the protocol (in French).

Degenerative myelopathy

This test can be ordered from the SCC, or from independent laboratories, including Antagène, Genindexe or Genimal.

Genomic screening tests

Genomic tests are replacing genetic tests. In a single, lower-cost test, they can screen for a whole range of conditions or predispositions instead of just one. See, on the SCC website, the general presentation, or further information (in French).
